Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia Stands with Flood Victims at Atala While Others Trade Politics

In moments of national tragedy, true leadership is demonstrated through compassion, presence, and action not political point-scoring.

Former Vice President and NPP Presidential Flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia visited the flood-ravaged Atala community to commiserate with residents and assess the devastating impact of the recent floods that have displaced families and destroyed homes and livelihoods.

Walking through the affected areas, Dr. Bawumia listened to the painful experiences of victims, inspected damaged properties, and assured residents that their plight must not be ignored. His visit was a message of solidarity with Ghanaians who are enduring one of the most difficult moments in recent times.

While some politicians are busy engaging in "political equalization" attempting to compare tragedies instead of confronting the real issues Dr. Bawumia chose to be on the ground with the people. Ghanaians deserve leaders who empathize with victims, not those who exploit disasters for partisan advantage.

The recurring floods in our communities should remind all stakeholders that Ghana needs lasting investments in drainage infrastructure, proper urban planning, and effective flood prevention measures. Natural disasters should unite us in finding solutions, not divide us through political rhetoric.

The people of Atala welcomed Dr. Bawumia's visit and expressed hope that the concerns raised by affected residents will continue to receive the attention they deserve. At a time when many families are counting their losses, leadership is ultimately measured by standing with the people when they need it most.
