Insensitive NDC Government!!

*Insensitive Government*

Barely had the dust settled
On the road that leads to sorrow,
Where eight traders fell in silence
On foreign soil in Burkina Faso,
And the wounded still wrestled
Between breath and eternity.

Across our land,
Cocoa farmers bowed their heads,
Not in prayer alone,
But beneath the weight of cruel prices,
Their sweat discounted,
Their hope taxed by hardship.

Yet in the seat of power,
Within the walls of Jubilee House,
Songs of cheer rose louder than sighs,
Celebration drowned compassion,
And jubilation wore the mask
That mourning should have claimed.

Is this how a nation remembers?
For when grief once visited the house
Of the National Democratic Congress,
When the sky swallowed their ministers,
The market women, the farmers, the traders
All wore black with the state,
All wept with the land.
But now the fallen lie waiting,
Still strangers to their own soil,
Denied the final journey home,
Denied the dignity of farewell,
While laughter walks the corridors of power.

O nation, hear this cry
Not born of hatred,
But of a wounded patriot’s plea:

A government that forgets the tears of its people
Writes its history in cold stone.
