Dear che
rished members of the great New Patriotic Party in Bantama,
As we gather for our party conference today, I urge all of us not to lose hope or be discouraged by our recent electoral setback. While painful, losing elections is part of the democratic journey. Even the strongest political parties across the world experience such moments, especially after serving two consecutive terms in office.
Our case is no different. The devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic brought hardship to people globally, and many incumbent governments were voted out as a result. Indeed, over 80% of governments that held elections post-COVID lost, including major democracies like the United States, the United Kingdom, and several others.
Naturally, losing power presents internal challenges, and unfortunately, some may try to exploit the situation for personal gain. But now, more than ever, is the time for us to stay united, focused, and resilient. This is the time to reflect, to learn from our missteps, and to rebuild with renewed strength.
Let us never lose sight of the incredible legacy the NPP has built in the Fourth Republic: from National Health Insurance, to Free SHS, One District, One Factory, Digital Transformation, and massive infrastructure development. These are not just policies; they are life-changing interventions that continue to improve the lives of millions of Ghanaians.
As we deliberate today, let unity be our banner and victory our goal. Let us rise above disappointment, rebuild our grassroots, and work together to recapture power in 2028; not just for political success, but to protect our nation’s future and uphold the principles we stand for.
Together, we shall rise again.
#BantamaRising
#NPP2028Victory
May God bless you all.
